Overview & Problem
This School of Design within a large university runs an annual Design & Planning Career Fair for more than 400 graduate students across architecture, historic preservation, real estate, spatial analytics, and fine arts.
Historically, the school relied on a traditional resume book, time-consuming to assemble and of limited use to employers, who came to the fair precisely because resumes alone don't capture who a student is. Portfolios, the heart of a design student's candidacy, had no real distribution channel at all. The format that defined pre-event prep was the same format the fair existed to move beyond.
How Snapshot Solved It
Students combined resumes, portfolios, and short audio intros in one employer-facing profile (a Snapshot). Employers reviewed materials and starred people that stood out, and students were notified of potential interest and arrived with a gameplan.
